“To maximise, yet contain” was the brief for this extraordinary house. A retired couple – who desired a space that didn’t feel too large for two, but could expand when needed for visiting guests and family. This headland home captures the vast Pacific Ocean while maintaining the ability to hunker down and contract inwards to the thoughtful, landscaped courtyard when harsh storm roll in. The sophisticated, beachside design embraces modernity and the surrounding environment yet maintains seclusion.
